Carne Asada Tacos feature thinly sliced, grilled steak marinated in citrus and spices, served on warm corn tortillas with fresh onion, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. The bright marinade and high-heat grill impart a smoky-char flavor that complements the tender beef. Quick to assemble, they’re ideal for casual gatherings or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 0.50 cup orange juice
  • 0.25 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2.0 tablespoon and 0.25 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.50 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.50 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1.50 pound flank steak, trimmed
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 0.50 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 0.50 cup salsa
  • 0 1 lime, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. Prepare the marinade: whisk together citrus, oil, garlic, and spices.
  2. Marinate the steak: place flank steak in a shallow dish, pour in marinade, and refrigerate at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill or grill pan to high; remove steak from marinade and grill until medium, about 4 minutes per side.
  4. Let steak rest 5 minutes, then thinly slice against the grain.
  5. Warm tortillas: heat corn tortillas on the grill or in a dry skillet until pliable.
  6. Assemble tacos: top each tortilla with sliced steak, onion, cilantro, and salsa; serve with lime wedges.
